For us, Garri is top of the line local content. It accounts for 70% of cassava consumption in Nigeria alone and is sometimes referred to as cassava flakes. It is a local substitute for foreign cereal in west Africa and a massive source of carbohydrate for people. Year on year the price of Garri increases on average by 35%, while in-season to off-season price during a particular year can go as high as 100% depending on the availability of cassava.
